MY BIO

A Journey Of Meaning

Like anyone, we know failure is apart of life, however it is the lessons that we get out of those times that will make or break us. For Kennedra Nicol Nicholson, a graduate two times over from Texas Southern University with both degrees, a Bachelors and Masters geared in Communications, it was something Nicholson knew well to often. "Nobody likes failure, but it is imminent in this life, my only job was and is to not let it define me". The Houston native always knew writing was quintessential to her surroundings even if she tried to get away from it for a spell. "For the longest time, I believed that I would be a songwriter, because well, I love music, and after several attempts, it failed, but the one constant was writing and telling stories so that was good enough. Though I recently graduated with my Masters in my late 30's , it was no better time because once I walked across the stage, it was on. The epiphany spoke to me clearly, you are a writer, Kennedra," she says jokingly. Now with the next phase in her life approaching she knows the opportunities are endless. "I feel 20 even though I'm 2 decades older, It's a really good feeling and time to embrace everything. Telling stories that will impact someone's life is better than anything well, almost. No excuses, no regrets, just being my authentic self and being a positive representation of black people, black culture and black excellence".
